It's been too long since we posted. OK, let's see what's happened. In late April, (about two weeks since the last post), Molly takes Katie ice skating with the rest of the Brownies and breaks her wrist. She drive;s herself home and says she needs to go see a doctor (like I couldn't see that). So, The kids and I drive her to the hospital and leave her, telling her to call when she is done. She gets there at about 6:30 PM and at 12:15 AM calls us to get her. Her wrist is broken and needs surgery the next week. In goes a plate, five screws and a cast.

That weekend, we buy a new car. The van (God rest her beaten soul) can't go much longer. We get a 2005 Toyota Camry while Molly is trying out her cast and we are happy. May 31st rolls around and the cast comes off. Her wrist is thin, white and ugly, but about the most beautiful thing we have seen in a while.

In the middle of all this, Katie makes her First Communion. Both Grandparents come for the ceremony and she looks beautiful. 3 sacraments down and three to go (with the last coming way in the future, pray God)

We will again soon.

Spring is here!

Spring is here. Easter is this weekend. The weather has been warm and sunny. There is nothing like a sunny day to make everyone smile and just feel better! The kids are excited just to be out and about. Wish I knew how to plant and grow plants. I would like to plant but I have a hard time with things growing.

Tommy is so dirty after he has been outside. We just let him go until we can give him a bath = he gets dirt everywhere in the bathroom or wherver. I am not sure our house will ever be the same - we can't grow grass in the back yard and we end up having holes everywhere since he loves to dig. The tub is always dirty after their bath.

Katie is a typical girl . She doesn't want to be outside really but.. She will go out and boss her little brother around and sing and dance in the back yard.

Thank Goodness for Spring

VILLAINS

Everybody loves villains. I think Katie really sees us suffering as she is praying for us which is good. Than there is Tommy who just loves to be left on his own to be creative whether he is filling jars with water and playing the drums, watching tv or just running outside yelling "it's Spring, it's Spring. I'm sure most of you are not surprised Michael Patrick Mulholland is celebrating St. Patrick's day. St. Patrick is a true Saint of the church and his memory and life should be celebrated. He was a well-to-do teanager of a Roman family in Britain when he was kidnapped by Irish raiders and brought to Ireland as a slave. Forced to watch sheep in an isolated part of Ireland, all he had was God to talk to. After escaping his captors, he went home to his family in Britain, now a Christian. Off to Rome, he became a priest and then had dream about that hole of an island called Ireland. In that dream, he saw the Irish people begging him to come back and bring Christ to them. He asked the bishops if he could go to Ireland and they said yes. Within 40 years of returing to Ireland, Patrick had mananged to convert the entire population and Ireland has been exporting Catholics ever since.

Not bad for a 15 year old pagen slave, huh? And I'm scared to speak in public why?

Blogging a habit

My husband for the life of him can't figure out why if I enjoy the computer and have some basic regular site that I go to- that I haven't gotten into blogging. Tommy my 3 yr old tells us that" he went ice skating in the bathroom, is that good?" When he thinks he is being smart or good and wants positive reenforcement instead of saying "was that good?" How cute! He has never been ice skating but has seen it on TV and movies and things so you know he gets the main idea of it. Mike than goes into the bathroom to see what his son is actually talking about. Well, think of ice skating in a child creative little mind- he has pushed the pump on the hand soap and gotten a lot of soap on the floor and than starts sliding around in it. Yes it is a mess but.. we have learned with 2 kids that we should just let it be and pick the battles that are much bigger. At least he was in the bathroom initially for the right reason as he is potty trained and uses the bathroom and washes his hands. A success in my book!

Moose

When I was young, I wasn't what you would exactly call small - not that a lot of you would call 6'3", 235# exactly svelte now, either. I picked up six red peppers at "Stop & Shop's "Not perfect, but still pretty good" section for $3.25 or so. Sure, some of the skins were starting to wrinkle, but who cares when you're roasting them off! Anyway, I got about a a quart or quart and a half out of it for three bucks and 45 minutes of my time. So I had to turn the peppers every 5 minutes or so for 30 minutes and then 10 minutes of "sweat" time and 5 minutes of peeling the skins off. Didn't break my heart. I got some great peppers and I had a good time doing it.

I guess that's the trick - having a good time. Most people I know would rather cough up the $3.99 for the small jar of tiny, thin skinned peppers than spend 45 minutes roasting peppers. To me, it was a fun way to blow an evening and I got some good food to share with friends out of it. Now, if "the game" was on, I would rather cut my finger off than spend three hours watching the Red Sox play basketball and everybody else would be like zombies in front of the TV.

It's all what you like.

What does that mean?

I talk to myself a lot - I mean out loud.
